On-Location Recording

Equipment We can capture your live performance in a high-quality recording:

 

 

  • Stereo or multichannel format to 24 channels or more if needed
  • Direct to hard drive recording for later mixdown
  • Can record live in conjunction with venue sound if needed
  • Additional high-end studio gear is available as needed

 

Live Sound

Equipment We provide live sound for small to medium venues (<200) that includes a 16-channel system with 4 monitors and a selection of dynamic and condenser microphones. We use a high fidelity system for faithful reproduction of acoustic music:

 

  • Allen & Heath 16/2 mixer
  • EV SxA powered mains
  • JBL EON power 10 monitors
  • Alesis MEQ-230 Eqs for monitors
  • ANT W696b vintage EQ for mains
  • BFE BKE4 vintage stereo buss compressor for mains
  • Shure SM57s and SM58s
  • AKG 451 pair
  • Neumann KM184 pair
  • Octava MK012 pair
  • Shure BG4.1 (like SM81)
  • Peavey bass microphone
  • Tascam PE-125 condenser microphone

 

 

Recording Services

Equipment We provide full music production and engineering services. With our broad musical backgrounds, we can work with you at all stages of your recording project:

 

  • Songwriting and arranging
  • Scoring and lead sheets for the studio
  • Tracking and mixing
  • Mastering and preparation for duplication or manufacture

 

Equipment We like all kinds of music and can produce many different musical styles. Our primary focus is on vocal, acoustic, and ensemble music. We are also interested and experienced in many world music styles. Please contact us to discuss arrangements.

Studer Equipment We use a high-quality signal chain consisting of modern and vintage audio equipment (for a comprehensive list of equipment, please see the Equipment List):

 

  • Microphones by Neumann, AKG, Schoeps, and DPA.
  • Analog and tube front end and effects gear from Telefunken, Neumann, Millennia, Summitt.
  • Nuendo DAW with Apogee A/D conversion
  • Studer 2/4 track 1/2" tape machine for analog mixdown and mastering
  • Otari RADAR 24-track hard-drive recorder
  • Monitoring by Hafler, Dynaudio Acoustics, JBL
